After three decades of working in the Polk County Assessor's Office as the Director of Litigation, Amy took a position as Chief Deputy Assessor for the Riverside County Assessor. She holds both the Residential Evaluation Specialist (RES) and the Assessment Administration Specialist (AAS) designations from the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO). She has served in several capacities for IAAO, including president of the organization, as well as a board member of the Iowa Real Estate Appraiser Examining Board and the Institute of Iowa Certified Assessors.

In addition to serving on numerous committees in her home state, Amy has served on the IAAO Planning and Rules Committee, Budget Committee, Technology Special Committee, USPAP Committee, and as Chair of the Professional Development Committee. Amy is also a Senior Specialty Instructor for IAAO, and in 2017 she was honored to be given the Clifford B. Allen Most Valuable Member award.
